Like an addict, he lies

Even to himself

Buries his head in his work

Although it can’t save him now

His choices, have consequences

Hurting people he cares about

But he doesn’t know how to stop

And gain some self control

The world has fallen silent

It gives him time to think

His ways need mending

A decision must be made

What is it that he wants?

The risk could be worth it
